How do I apply for financial aid?

Need-based financial assistance is available. If you would like to receive an estimate of financial aid for your family
along with the admissions notification for your child(ren), please complete the Financial Aid Fast Track Request.

We utilize School & Student Services, a tool created by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), to determine parent contribution to school expenses. All applicants for financial aid must complete the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) on the SSS website. Detailed step-by-step instructions for completing the PFS are included in this PFS guide. You can find the school-specific information that you need for the PFS in this guide for applying for financial aid.

Frequently Asked Questions about Financial Aid

When are financial aid applications due?

The Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) through the School and Student Services (SSS) by NAIS is due February 28, 2017.

How do you determine how much a family can pay?

To consider individual students for financial aid fairly, we assess each family’s financial situation with the help of the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) used by schools throughout the U.S. Every family applying for aid completes a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) and sends it to SSS for processing. SSS calculates what the family can pay and sends the information to Trinity Academy. Trinity Academy uses the SSS calculation as a guide for assessing the applicant's portion of the total amount of funds available for financial aid.

WHAT DOES “NEED-BASED” MEAN?

The amount of a tuition reduction grant is based on the demonstrated financial need of a family. “Demonstrated financial need” is the difference between the cost of tuition at Trinity Academy and the amount a family can be expected to pay toward that tuition.

How can I find out my expected financial aid award now?

We understand that learning of your anticipated financial award early in the process can be very helpful. We are pleased to introduce our Fast Track Financial Aid Request. After submitting some basic information, we will estimate the financial aid you can expect and send it with your admissions decision letter. In order to complete the financial aid process, you will also need to fill out the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) as noted above. If no significant changes in your financial situation are noted through this process, the award we estimate now will be the award you will receive next school year.

Will applying for financial aid hurt my child’s chances of being admitted?

No. Admission to Trinity Academy is need-blind. This means that the admissions process and the financial aid process are entirely separate.

Is financial aid automatically renewed each year?

All financial aid grants are for one year only. This is because a family’s financial circumstances and needs may change (for better or for worse) from year to year and must be examined annually by the financial aid committee. However, the school makes every effort to continue financial support of families requiring aid.

Does Trinity Academy have any athletic or merit scholarships?

No. All grants at Trinity Academy are based simply upon an assessment of financial need. There are no athletic or merit scholarships.

Does a grant cover anything other than tuition?

Financial aid at Trinity Academy is a tuition-assistance program only. It does not cover the cost of uniforms, books or other student fees.
