The Story of the World by Susan Wise Bauer and narrated by Jim Weiss. This series is in audiobook and as a traditional book. This is an excellent resource for a long family car ride. The series begins with Ancient History and finishes with the Modern age. There are wonderful and engaging stories told by Jim Weiss on what childhood and family life looked like in various Ancient settings. This also also available at Multnomah County Library.

Jim Weiss has numerous classical stories re-told for children available on CD. Many are available on Spotify, and at Multnomah County Library.
